Buffet@Straits Cafe Hotel Rendevous

A special occasion for my wife and I, hence we decided to pick this place to dine for the evening.

Parked at the corner of Princep Street, it's easily accessible via public transport, even going to be so when the new Bras Basah station on the Circle Line is up.

It's an international buffet, so the spread is definitely good as there are so many things to pick and feast on.

The first thing that I would look out for are fresh oysters.  A perfect match with a dash of lemon juice.

If you like Japanese cuisine, there's the famous Japanese crab (these belong to the cold dishes menu as a good start for the feast.  There's also udon noodles with naruto; just a small serving before we head further for all other dishes.

Udon with Naruto (Japanese fish cake)

Desserts - definitely a large spread if your stomach still have space for that.  Cakes of most flavors dressed with fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries are all out there.

Fondues, durian penyeks (whipped durian) and a whole array served in small glasses are out there for you too.  So if you have a big sweettooth for these, go for what you can.

Rojak - Local delight.  You just have to mix it up.

Mix it all up - Go for the local rojak which you can choose the ingredients and mix it in the common mixing bowl before bringing back to your table.

There's really alot more you can eat so if you are a buffet buff, here's one of those places to check out.

Bon Appetit!
